I can’t emphasize enough how great I think this show is. It just continues to be great. Before this episode the other day, there were three episodes in a row that didn’t deal too much with the larger arc but instead focused more on certain characters. The most intriguing episode was the last of the three, which focused on the cylons. It gave an interesting perspective and I loved how it focused on the Six that Gaius meets in the very beginning. Best of all, she is haunted buy a Gaius that only she can see just like the real Gaius is haunted by Six.
I didn’t exactly understand something about the second of those three episodes though. Pegasus loses contact with 2 Raptors (or maybe it was one Raptor and the two pilots….) Despite being ordered not to go after them, the Peagus jumps out to the area where they were last seen. They find the pilots dead, and moments later three Cylon basestars jump in. It was a trap, just like everyone except the Pegasus” commander thought. What I don’t understand is that if the Cylons can commit three basestars for an offensive, why don’t they just attack the fleet? Sure, they’d just jump right out, but you’d think that kind of firepower could do some damage almost immediately. I guess you could argue at the time that the Cylons didn’t know exactly where the fleet was because of that nebula or whatever they were in. Still, it seems like writing three of them in there was overkill….maybe it’s just me though.
The only bad news about this show is that this week is the season finale. Hopefully, they’ll at least do it like they did last year and start the next season in July.

Bea did actually finally come home yesterday. I’d figured it would have been later in the day, but she actually called us at 9 something to tell us she could leave. Of course, once we got there, they took more than hour before they finally released her. Thereafter I started my 2 hour jaunt around town trying to fill her medications and do a few other things. It actually wouldn’t have been so bad if it weren’t for the fact that one of the medications was rather hard to come by because of some wholesaler problem, so I had to go to a different pharmacy where she’d never been to which was more difficult…
She seems to be doing well at home now. She can walk around, just not too quickly. The dogs have learned that they can’t jump on her as well, which is a plus.
I had actually planned on painting more yesterday, but I ran out of time for some odd reason…
So I’ve been doing that today instead, among other things of little importance. I’m working all weekend again though, so I’ll be gone soon.

Bea is still in the hospital. She was supposed to come home today (after she was supposed to come home yesterday) but they are still trying to get her blood pressure and O2 sat under control. She was wrong on when she has to be on oxygen as well. She has to be on it at all times. She’s supposed to be on 4 “liters” (I assume this means liters per minute..), which apparently is quite a high amount. A guy came and delivered some tanks and a machine for her to use this morning.
My faith in the hospital wasn’t restored at all today either. Apparently the nurses were taking her on walks without an O2 tank. From what I gather, her 02 sat drops to exceptionally low levels when she’s off it. I guess her doctor said she was to be on it at all times as well. I guess no one told the nurses… Plus, the second time we visited her today she seemed to be doing a lot worse than she had been earlier in the day. Her O2 sat kept dropping below 85 (from what I understand below 90 is bad) which was the lower limit for the monitor (a pulse oximeter….nifty device in the way that it works. I’ve seen them before but never really knew what they were doing) so it kept alarming. I looked at the gage on the air line and she was only on 2 liters at the time, which I thought was rather odd since they said she should be on 4 at home. After we left, we were talking about how she seemed to be doing much worse. A few minutes later, she called. Apparently she was supposed to be getting 4 liters, but someone had turned it down. It seems to be a great hospital…
Beyond that, I’ve spent my day painting. Our living room is on it’s 3rd or 4th color now. Unfortunately, I hate painting. But Milenka won’t do it and she complains when I don’t. At least I’ve been able to work on it fairly consistently, and it feels good to be able to do that. On the downside though, I’m probably only about half way done. Maybe closer to a third of the way when I think of all the painting that needs to be done. Bah.

Bea’s surgery went fine for the most part. It actually was scheduled to start at 7:30 and she had to be there at 6:30. I think I got up at 5:00. I think I got to sleep about 2:00. Oh well. We had figured that she would be done and out of recovery long before I went to work, but no such luck. The surgery itself, which should have taken probably about 3 hours or so, actually took 6. Apparently, they didn’t do something quite right the first time and had a leak, so they had to go back and redo a lot of stuff. She was ready for visitors just about the time I had to leave for work. Milenka said she thought she was doing so-so.
I actually got to see her yesterday. She seemed to be doing quite well really. I’d say on the all and all she was doing better than Milenka was, but then maybe that’s just because she wasn’t whining nearly as much. The only real trouble she’s having is keeping her oxygen levels up. Oh, and her hand was all puffed up from the nurses screwing up the IV as well (or perhaps just not paying proper attention to see that something had eventually gone wrong). Milenka had the same problem. I don’t get the feeling that this particular hospital is overly competent.
Today, she seems to be doing better yet. They say she can go home tomorrow. On the downside, she has to be on oxygen for a month, though I think it’s just when she sleeps and drives.
Oh, and the extra dogs are all doing well.
