Starting around November, Mircrosoft will mark emails as spam if they aren’t using Sender ID. This means if you’re using hotmail you might have trouble getting your mail.
Sender ID is one of a couple of different solutions that are in the works to combat spam problems. The article mentions a couple of short-comings of Sender ID. Basically, Microsoft is trying to get everyone to adopt the standard that they support by making this move.
My advice, if you’re using hotmail, switch to a different service (I’d recommend gmail) now. Don’t wait until the end of the year when the headaches start. Encourage others to do the same so you don’t have trouble emailing them as well.

I just authorized my computer for my iTunes account. (Since I reinstalled windows, this needed to be done) When I did so, a dialog popped up letting me know that I’m on authorization 2 of 5. Once I run out of authorizations, all the music that I payed for (you might even say that I have some right to listen to it and all) will cease to function and be worthless. Good deal, eh?
Good thing I burn everything to a CD and then rip it as an MP3. If I run out of authorizations I won’t loose a thing. I’ll just create a new iTunes account. Easy easy.
On the other hand, I’ve heard that apple can actually authorize 5 sets of 5 authorizations, effectively bringing the total to 25 (after contacting apple and complaining after each set).
