AdSense

I threw a small google adsense thingy into the sidebar today. I really don’t care about ad revenue (in-so-much as that I don’t think it will generate much so it’s not work trying…..feel free to click if you want to though :) ) and I’d generally rather keep that kind of junk away from here. The text ads aren’t terribly intrusive though so they don’t bother me as much. The real reason I added it was to see what it comes up with since it bases the ads on the content of the site. I’m guessing that it could come up with some interesting things. If it doesn’t, it’s gone.

Interestingly enough, I already noticed it displaying an add for Incubus Dreams, the book in the Anita Blake series that I’m reading just now. This is interesting because I haven’t blogged about this or any of the books in a long time. I’m also not displaying lists of books that I’ve read recently just now. I also don’t blog about the type of things that the book is about, so I’m really unsure as to why it decided to display that link. Oddly enough, when I’m done with this book, I had planned on posting some thoughts on it and the series up to that point. Maybe adsense is being based on future content that I haven’t written yet? (Google does have some awfully talented engineers…..)

It also mentions Raymond E. Feist, another author I’ve been reading lately (though hadn’t planned to write about…). This thing is looking more intuitive than I had ever imagined :P

Who’s On First

For some reason, the Abbot and Costello’s classic skit, Who’s On First?, popped into my head earlier and it occurred to me that I could probably find an MP3 of it. I hadn’t heard this skit since I was a kid.

Listening to it again, it amazes me at how fast these two rattled off their lines. It really makes the whole thing effective, but I can’t imagine actually doing it. If you’ve never heard it before (it’s just a play on words) or if it’s been a long time, check it out.
