I kind of wonder exactly how many people have checked it out though. Unfortunately, wp-plugins.org doesn’t have any way of tracking downloads (that I know of) and I didn’t bother to do anything to get a count on how many people clicked my link to head on over that way. Oh well. It’s not a huge deal really.
I image that the number could easily be a couple of hundred though. I mention that because Blogging Pro went ahead and posted about it. This has resulted in a couple of hundred hits (Many thanks to Blogging Pro there) of which I have to imagine a good checked out the plugin if they bothered to click on the link over there. Plus I put the site out on BE as much as possible.
I feel good about the whole thing. I’m not sure if I’ll ever do anything more to the plugin other than make sure it works with future versions of WP. I guess we’ll see.
In the meantime, I’m already plotting and scheming a new plugin…

The new blog here is almost done. I’ve been making a lot of changes in the past couple of weeks and I feel like my list of what’s left to go is relatively small:
- Add spell check for comments
- Implement threaded comments – this looks like it might take a little doing…
- Add subscribe to comments via email – I tried using scriptygoddesses plugin but it threw a bunch errors at me….time to debug
- Add a page that links to my wondrous array of things I’ve written…
- Add an “on this day a year ago…” section
Beyond that there are a few relatively minor adjustments to the layout here and there I’d like to make, but that pretty much is the sum of my plans for now.
I’d like to come up with some way to colapse the categories down perhaps. It seems like it takes up too much space. Then again, maybe it’s good to have them all out there in case anyone is interested…. The monthly archive list was getting WAY too long and I found a decent way to shrink it down. Realistically, there are no longer links to monthly archives from before this year, but they can still be accessed with little bit of thought when you put in the URL… I don’t imagine there’s a great need for viewing individual months other than the last couple anyways.
I really like the theme I’m using just now. It’s Becca’s ocadia with a few minor changes here and there (some yet to come) by me. The most notable change is the symbol that is in the header and at the start and end of the posts (looks like an X with a line through the middle that’s longer than the X itself on one end). The old symbol was an interesting twirly thing, but it didn’t mean anything to me. The symbol I’ve replaced it with is one that I discovered by accident.
The story goes something like this: When I was in 5th or 6th grade, I had a scab from a cut or something on my face next to my mouth. I picked at the scab, and when it came off, the red shape that was left was that symbol. Since then, I’ve thought of it as “my symbol” in a way, though it’s not something I’ve ever used much. Thinking that I was a kid and might have just seen it somewhere else in the first place, I’ve searched and looked through directories of symbols trying to find it. I never have. If it’s been used before, it wasn’t a “popular” usage or else I probably would have found it by now.
The symbol is properly oriented with the long end of the center line pointing upwards, but it fit better turned sideways in the space I had to work with. With it upright, it was small and left a large amount of empty space.
As far as the theme itself goes though, it’s obviously rather neutral looking. I like to think of it as being calm. I figure that’s a good thing. On the other hand, I almost think it’s too calm and I feel like I need an image or two to spice it up a little.
On the all and all I’m liking WordPress about 1000 (give or take several hundred
) times more than movable type.
