Blogs [not] For Bush
I’ve noticed a lot of blogs have these banners that say “blogs for bush” or sometimes even “I voted bush”. Not wanting to feel left out, I decided I should give something like that a try. Now I’m Bush fan and I certainly didn’t vote for him, so these banners are definitely out. I voted for Kerry, but I don’t really want an “I voted Kerry” banner either. I mean, I’m no big fan of Kerry. Obviously most other people aren’t either. He even pushed more democrats away from him than Bush did Republicans. Not that I really care though, it’s over, end of discussion. I went with Kerry because he was the best chance of getting rid of Bush. So it’s no so much that I’m pro Kerry than it is that I’m anti Bush. This gave me an idea….
When you want to show the opposite of something, what do you do? You turn it upside down of course!
An upside down cross is a symbol of anti-christianity and as another easy example, the upside-down pentagram takes on a similar opposite meaning. (I won’t go into a lot of detail on pentagrams, but what I think many people don’t realize is that a right side up one (the 5th point pointing up) has good connotations.) At any rate, the logical conclusion to draw is that what I’ve created is exactly what I’m looking for! Maybe I’ll add it to the sidebar….
(I also thought about drawing a cross to the right of the text there….it would make total sense when rightside up and be humorous when upside down.. )
