Not A Post About Christmas Eve

A lot of people seem to be doing posts about it being Christmas Eve and saying things like Merry Christmas and last day of shopping and things like that.
You won’t find any of that here.
Besides up there anyways.
I suppose I can take a minute before I get to the real point and talk about life at any rate. Bea (my mother-in-law) is here today/tomorrow and we’re doing food/movies and stuff. I won’t even try to list the different odd food things we’re doing, but I will say that we watched Elf last night. I had never really wanted to see it at all, but I kept on hearing it was good and we saw a preview and Milenka thought it looked good so we gave it a go. It was indeed really good. One main annoyance though was that it wasn’t captioned…I couldn’t believe it. It’s very very rare that a mainstream movie isn’t captioned. Oh well. I also saw I Robot the other day finally. It was a pretty good movie even if it was fairly predictable….maybe it wouldn’t be so obvious to someone not familiar with Asimov? Maybe at some point I’ll update my lists so it actually shows that I’ve seen these movies..
Anyways, things are going pretty good. The official word is that I’ve gotten Milenka nothing for Christmas, which would pretty much my standard approach to the whole thing. Don’t tell her, but I indeed have gotten her a couple of things. They’re probably not the best presents in the world, but I think they’re at least somewhat thoughtful… this actually marks probably the first time in about 5 years I’ve gotten her something on my own (she gets things that are her idea all the time). I won’t even try to explain because looking back on it, it all makes very little sense to me as well… I may even go so far as answering the phone if my parents call tomorrow. I’ve been avoiding them for the last month or two now, though it’s my dad who tends to call all the time whereas my mom doesn’t so much.
I’m also theoretically done with work for the year, though this really isn’t true. I’m working Monday and Tuesday (possibly Wednesday I suppose). This is fairly desirable because it kind of counts as triple time. I say kind of because that’s what I actually get paid, but I’m getting paid single time for not showing up, so I really only get double time pay for actually showing up…. It’s like working a Sunday as it’s lumped on top of what I already make for the week. There’s some economics term for this type of thing though the name escapes me just now. Time off is nice, but I’ll work a couple of days to take home many hundreds of dollars….no problem 
I’ve also noticed that Milenka went ahead and started posting things a little too personal about me the other day. I’d been on the fence about talking about it all, but I guess it’s out there now. Oh well, my bad, I should have told her I wasn’t sure about the whole thing.
Anyways, the real point of my post was, umm, to talk about The Apprentice. Uh, yeah, the next one will be different than the other ones which I haven’t seen. I thought I’d mention it because it was the most vain thing I could find on google news to make an entire post about. So there you have it, breaking news, enjoy
